Do Any of These Sound Familiar?
If any of these hit close to home, you already know something needs to change. A permanent solution is closer than you think.
What Happens When You Keep Waiting?
Bone Loss Accelerates
3-5 words, max 40 char Without teeth and roots stimulating the jaw, bone deterioration picks up speed and makes future treatment harder.
Facial Shape Changes
Your jaw loses volume over time, causing the sunken appearance that's so common with long-term tooth loss.
Fewer Options Remain
The longer you wait, the more bone graft procedures may be needed before implants are even possible.
Costs Increase Over Time
Additional preparatory treatments add to your total investment when problems are left unaddressed.
Daily Struggle Compounds
Every month with ill-fitting or missing teeth reinforces habits and discomfort you shouldn't have to live with.
Confidence Stays on Hold
Months of hesitation turn into years of avoiding the moments that matter most.
Acting sooner means a simpler path, less preparation, and getting your life back faster.
What Are All-On-X Dental Implants?
All-On-X is a full-arch tooth replacement system that uses four to six titanium implants (small posts placed into your jawbone) to anchor a complete set of fixed replacement teeth. Unlike removable dentures, the prosthetic arch attaches directly to the implants and stays in place permanently. The “X” represents either four or six implants depending on your jawbone structure and treatment needs, allowing us to customize the approach for each patient.
At our Raleigh Dental Arts practice, we plan every All-On-X case using 3D cone beam CT imaging, which maps the density and anatomy of your jaw in precise detail. This allows Dr. Agarwal to determine optimal implant positions and create a surgical guide before your procedure ever begins. For patients seeking All-On-X implants in Raleigh, this level of planning translates directly into more predictable placement and a smoother treatment day.
All-On-4 vs. All-On-6: Which Is Right for You?
| Factor | All-On-4 | All-On-6 |
|---|---|---|
| Ideal candidate | Patients with adequate bone in strategic areas | Patients needing broader bone support or greater stability |
| Number of implants | 4 implants | 6 implants |
| Bone density required | Moderate; angled placement compensates for some loss | Moderate to high; more anchor points used |
| Stability | Excellent with proper placement | Maximum stability |
| Prosthetic support | Full-arch fixed arch | Full-arch fixed arch |
| Treatment time | Single procedure day | Single procedure day |
| Long-term durability | Decades with proper care | Decades with proper care |
| Key advantage | Fewer implants, streamlined treatment | Added anchor points for complex cases |
| Key consideration | Best with sufficient posterior bone | May be recommended when bone is thinner in some areas |

What to Expect During Your All-On-X Treatment
Consultation and Evaluation
You'll meet with Dr. Agarwal for a thorough review of your dental and medical history. We'll take 3D cone beam CT scans to map your jaw structure in precise detail, identifying bone density and anatomy before any decisions are made. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your candidacy and a treatment plan designed specifically for you.
Surgical Planning and Preparation
Dr. Agarwal uses your 3D imaging to determine optimal implant positions and builds a customized surgical guide. This guide directs exact placement during your procedure, reducing variables and helping ensure consistent results. If any remaining teeth need to be removed beforehand, we'll plan that into your timeline. Sedation options, including IV sedation administered by a licensed anesthesiologist, are available to keep you comfortable and relaxed throughout.
Implant Placement Day
On your surgery day, Dr. Agarwal places four to six titanium implants into your jawbone using the surgical guide. Any remaining teeth in the arch are gently removed during this same appointment. You'll be comfortable throughout, and most patients are surprised by how little they feel during the process.
Temporary Arch and Healing
A temporary fixed arch is attached to your implants on the same day, so you leave with a complete, functional set of teeth. Over the next three to six months, the implants fuse with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration (where the bone grows around and bonds to the implant surface). You'll follow a soft-food diet during healing, and our team stays in close contact with you throughout.
Your Final Restoration
Once healing is complete, your temporary arch is replaced with your final custom-crafted prosthetic. This permanent restoration is designed to fit your jaw, your face, and your bite with precision. The result is a set of teeth that look natural, feel stable, and function like the real thing.

What to Expect After All-On-X Treatment
First 24-48 Hours
You'll want to rest and keep activity light during the first two days. Some mild swelling and tenderness in the jaw are completely normal and typically peak within the first 48 hours before beginning to ease. We'll provide specific guidance on managing any discomfort, and most patients find over-the-counter or prescribed medication handles it well. Stick to cold soft foods and liquids during this window.
First 1-2 Weeks
Most patients return to light daily routines within a few days. Swelling continues to reduce, and any residual soreness typically fades through the first week. You'll follow a soft-food diet during this time while the implant sites begin to settle. By the end of the second week, most patients feel significantly more comfortable and are adjusting well to their temporary arch.
Long-Term Healing
The implants continue fusing with your jawbone over the next three to six months. This process is gradual and generally symptom-free. You'll come in for periodic check-ins so we can monitor your progress. Once healing is confirmed, we'll move forward with placing your final permanent restoration.
