From Soda Stains to a Confident Smile
A young patient in his mid-20s came to our office with concerns about his smile. Growing up, he had never been to the dentist, as his parents hadn’t taken him as a child. Over the years, he developed a habit of drinking a lot of soda, which left visible brown spots on his teeth. Though he had since stopped drinking soda, he was still worried about the damage it had caused. The patient was self-conscious about his smile and felt embarrassed talking to people at his new job.
Motivations for Change
The patient was eager to address the discoloration and potential cavities caused by his long-term soda consumption. He wanted to restore his smile and improve his oral health, which had become a source of anxiety. His goal was to feel more confident when interacting with others, especially at work.
The Solution
We created a personalized plan that tackled both cosmetic and health concerns. This included cosmetic fillings to treat cavities and remove the brown spots left behind by years of soda drinking. We also provided guidance on better dietary choices and taught him proper brushing and flossing techniques to prevent further damage and maintain his oral health.
The Result
The patient was thrilled with the outcome. His smile was restored, and the brown spots that had made him self-conscious were gone. With his confidence renewed, he no longer felt the need to hide his smile at work. He has since made a commitment to maintaining his oral health and has kept his smile beautiful and healthy for several years.
